Albrecht Dürer was a prominent painter and engraver of the German Renaissance. He was born on May 21, 1471, in Nuremberg, Germany, and died on April 6, 1528. Dürer is known for his technical skill and his ability to portray with detail and realism. In addition to his famous Self-Portrait with Gloves, Dürer created numerous masterpieces, including The Hare, Melencolia I, and Adam and Eve. Dürer was also known for his generosity and his ability to accept objects of little value as payment for his works.
