The Champ de Mars in Paris is a public garden on the left bank, bordered to the northwest by the Eiffel Tower and to the southeast by the École Militaire. It was established by the will of Louis XV as the site of a military school, where Napoleon also studied in 1784. Between 1908 and 1920, the area in front of the school was transformed into a beautiful garden approximately 1 km in length and 220 meters wide. With arches, waterfalls, a pond, and wide boulevards, it retains a connection to the ancient Roman Champ de Mars and the god Mars, symbolizing war.
