The Palazzo Pitti is one of the most famous museums in the world and is located in the Oltrarno district of Florence. It is an imposing building that has been under construction for four centuries, from the 15th century to the 19th century. Although it appears homogeneous at first glance, it has undergone different historical phases over the years. It was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi in the 15th century and expanded in the 16th century, extending even to the Boboli Gardens and the Forte di Belvedere. The palace rooms display a mix of styles, from the sumptuous Baroque transformation to Neoclassicism and the adjustments made in the 19th century for the House of Savoy court. Today, the Palazzo Pitti houses around 150 rooms exhibiting a variety of art collections and objects, including masterpieces of painting.
