Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a renowned French painter of the late 19th century. He is known for being one of the foremost representatives of the artistic movement known as Post-Impressionism and for his portraits of Parisian nightlife. Toulouse-Lautrec primarily portrayed scenes from cabarets, brothels, and theaters, capturing the decadence and energy of the bohemian life of the time. His works are characterized by vibrant use of color, depiction of elongated figures and defined contours, as well as attention to detail in the expression and gestures of his characters. In addition to painting, Toulouse-Lautrec also ventured into lithography and poster art, creating some of the most iconic images of his time.
