The "piano nobile" of a palace is traditionally the main floor or the first floor of a residential building or a noble palace. This floor was typically reserved for the residences of the owners or noble families. The "piano nobile" was often characterized by high ceilings, larger and more decorated rooms, and sometimes access to balconies or panoramic terraces. It was designed to be the most impressive and sumptuous part of the building, reserved for social activities and important events.
