The Chapel of the Transit is located within the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Porziuncola. It was originally the infirmary of the convent and is significant because it is where Saint Francis passed away on 3 October 1226. Inside the chapel, there is a glazed terracotta statue of Saint Francis created by the fifteenth-century sculptor Andrea della Robbia.
