Giovanni Lanfranco was a prominent Italian painter of the 17th century, considered one of the main exponents of the Baroque style. He was born in Parma in 1582 and trained in the Bolognese school of painting, where he specialized in painting large frescoes and religious compositions. Lanfranco was known for his skill in depicting figures and for his dramatic use of light and color. Some of his most famous works include "The Communion of the Apostles" in the Basilica of St. Peter in Rome and "The Flight into Egypt" in the Chapel of the Magi in Naples.
