Perugino, whose real name was Pietro Vannucci, was an Italian Renaissance painter. He was born in Città della Pieve, in the region of Umbria, around 1446 and died in 1523 in Fontignano, also in Umbria. He was one of the leading painters of his time and had a significant impact on the Umbrian school of painting. Perugino was a master to other prominent artists, such as Raphael Sanzio. He is known for his serene compositions, mastery of perspective, and ability to depict idealized beauty. His most famous works include "The Delivery of the Keys to St. Peter" in the Sistine Chapel and "The Baptism of Christ" in the church of Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi in Florence.
