The church of Santa Balbina in Rome is an ancient Christian place of worship located on the Aventine Hill. It was built in the 4th century and is known for its early Christian architecture and for housing one of the finest examples of early Christian mosaics preserved in the city. The interior of the church is simple and austere, with a basilica plan of three naves and granite columns reused from older constructions. Additionally, it features an apse decorated with mosaics depicting the saint and a series of biblical episodes.
