The Temple of Antoninus and Faustina in Rome is an ancient Roman temple that was built in the year 141 AD. Originally, the temple was dedicated only to Faustina, the wife of Emperor Antoninus Pius, but later it was also dedicated to Antoninus after his death. The temple is known for its imposing columns of "cipollino" marble and its elegant frieze. Nowadays, the temple has been transformed into a Christian church dedicated to Saint Lawrence. When observing the shafts of the temple's columns, marks and grooves can be seen which were made in an attempt to topple them, using pairs of oxen.
