Luca Signorelli was a prominent Italian Renaissance painter, born in 1445 and died in 1523. He was known for his contribution to art in central Italy, particularly in the regions of Umbria and Tuscany. Signorelli stood out for his skill in representing the human body and for his dramatic use of light and shadow in his works. Some of his most famous works include the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican and his series of paintings on the Apocalypse in the Cathedral of Orvieto.
