Domenico della Rovere (1442-1501), an Italian cardinal and bishop, stood out for his influence during the pontificate of Sixtus IV. In 1478, he was appointed cardinal, first at San Vitale and then at San Clemente. He built the Palazzo dei Penitenzieri in Rome in 1480. In 1482, he was transferred to Geneva and then to Turin. During his episcopacy, he promoted the construction of a new cathedral in Turin and founded a collegiate church in Saluzzo.
