Filippo Calendario, architect, sculptor, and ship owner, lived in 14th-century Venice. His work as a stone cutter led him to become the owner of ships for transporting stone blocks. Involved in the construction of the Doge's Palace, he was fined several times for delays. In 1355, he was arrested for his involvement in a conspiracy and was hanged.
