Jacopo Sansovino was a prominent Italian Renaissance architect. He was born in 1486 in Florence and died in 1570 in Venice. He is known for his contribution to civil and religious architecture in Venice, where he spent most of his career. Among his most famous works is the Marciana Library, a public library in St. Mark's Square in Venice. He also designed the facade of the Palazzo del Consiglio, which represents a notable example of Venetian Renaissance style. Sansovino combined classical elements with Venetian Gothic tradition in his architectural designs, creating a distinctive style that influenced later architecture in the region.
