Doge Enrico Dandolo of Venice was a prominent figure in Venetian history. He served as the 42nd Doge of Venice from 1192 until his death in 1205. Dandolo is especially known for his leadership during the Fourth Crusade, in which the Venetians played a crucial role. Under his rule, Venice became a significant maritime power and expanded its commercial empire.
