Andrea Mantegna was a prominent Italian Renaissance painter, born in the 15th century in the Republic of Venice and primarily active in the city of Mantua. He is known for his innovative style and mastery of perspective, as well as for the attention to detail in his works. Mantegna was one of the first artists to use the technique of foreshortening in his compositions, allowing him to create an illusion of depth and realism. His main subjects included religious, mythological, and classical antiquity scenes. He was also characterized by his ability to represent human figures in complex and dynamic positions.
