Juliet’s House is one of Verona’s most famous tourist attractions, closely tied to the legendary love story of Juliet and Romeo, immortalized by William Shakespeare.

The City of Verona purchased the building in 1905, and between 1939 and 1941 it underwent a Neo-Medieval restoration designed to recreate the atmosphere of the famous love story. During this period, the courtyard was created and the iconic balcony was added — not as a historical element, but as a romantic gesture meant to fulfill the expectations of visitors enchanted by Shakespeare’s tale....
