At the heart of Verona's historic center lies the Lamberti Tower, one of the city's most well-known symbols. Built in 1172 by the Lamberti family, the tower, standing at 84 meters tall, is the most imposing building in Verona. Initially in the Romanesque style, modifications were made in 1448, including the addition of an octagonal bell chamber in white marble. A clock was installed in 1779. Since 1972, the Tower has been open to the public, offering a unique panoramic view of the city and its surroundings from its first level.
