The Homomonument in Amsterdam is a memorial to commemorate all gay men and lesbians who have been subjected to persecution because of their sexual orientation. It is located in the city center and is made up of three pink triangles, reminiscent of the symbols that homosexuals were forced to wear during the Holocaust. The design consists of three large pink granite triangles placed on the ground to form a larger triangle, symbolizing past, present, and future generations. The Homomonument serves as a powerful reminder of the struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community and stands as a tribute to their resilience and strength.
