The Galerías Piquer, in the heart of the Rastro, are a favorite place for antique collectors. Named after the Valencian singer Concha Piquer, it offers antiques ranging from traditional Castilian furniture to the most sophisticated Art Nouveau and Oriental pieces.
Opened in 1950, initially called Galerías Isla de Cuba, it was designed by architect José de Azpiroz y Azpiroz. It was such a success with the public that, soon after its opening, other similar stores were opened, also specializing in antiques and collectibles, such as Nuevas Galerías and Galerías Ribera.
