The lively half-oval shaped square where you now stand is the heart of Madrid and the most lively point of its historical, social, and commercial center: this is Puerta del Sol Square, nicknamed "Sol." People from Madrid often say, "If the Earth revolves around the sun, Madrid revolves around Sol!" (sun in Spanish)....
