The White Tower is the oldest part of the Tower of London, originally built by William the Conqueror in 1078. It is a square fort with four corner towers, featuring a chapel and a prison since its construction. Subsequently, the castle was expanded around this central structure with various additions up to the 1800s. The White Tower remains a significant historical and architectural landmark within the Tower of London complex.
