Olbram Zoubek (1926-2017), a contemporary Czech sculptor and designer, was inspired by Alberto Giacometti. His work is exhibited in the Vaults Gallery of Litomyšl Castle. He is known for creating a death mask of Jan Palach, a student who self-immolated in protest against the Soviet invasion of 1968. His notable work includes the "Memorial to the Victims of Communism" in Prague (with architects Jan Kerel and Zdeněk Holzel).
