Gianlorenzo Bernini

Gian Lorenzo Bernini was a prominent sculptor and architect of the Baroque period in Rome. He was born in 1598 and demonstrated his talent from an early age. He created important works for Prince Scipione Borghese, among which stand out the groups of sculptures of Aeneas and Anchises, as well as the famous "The Rape of Proserpina."
