Gian Lorenzo Bernini was a prominent sculptor and architect of the Baroque period in Rome. He was born in 1598 and demonstrated his talent from an early age. He created important works for Prince Scipione Borghese, among which stand out the groups of sculptures of Aeneas and Anchises, as well as the famous "The Rape of Proserpina." Bernini was known for his ability to represent emotion and movement in his sculptures, as well as for his technical mastery in marble manipulation. His work has left a significant mark on the history of art, and his legacy continues to be admired today.
