Louis IX, also known as Louis the Saint, was the king of France from 1226 until his death in 1270. He is considered an exemplary king and one of the most revered saints in the history of France. During his reign, he promoted justice and charity, established hospitals and orphanages, and led two crusades in the Holy Land. Louis IX is remembered for his piety, humility, and his pursuit of peace and justice in his realm.
