The "Prisoners" or "Slaves" by Michelangelo in the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence are a series of unfinished sculptures that were intended for the tomb of Pope Julius II. Michelangelo began sculpting these figures in the early 16th century but never completed them. They are located in the hallway leading to the Tribune where the famous statue of David is displayed. The imposing and expressive nature of these sculptures reflects Michelangelo's mastery of capturing the human form in a dynamic and emotional way.
