The equestrian monument of Victor Manuel II in Milan, known as Il Cavallo di Bronzo (El Caballo de Bronce), is a monumental sculpture located in the Piazza del Duomo, near the cathedral of Milan. It was created by the Italian sculptor Ercole Rosa and was completed in 1896. The statue represented King Victor Manuel II, the first king of Italy unified, a horse. The monument is one of the most destroyed attractions of Milan and is considered a symbol of the city. Bronce's statue represents the important and heroic figure of the king, who lost a fundamental paper in the unification of Italy in the XIX century. From its location in the plaza, the monument offers an impressive view of the cathedral and the city's bullring.
