The Palace of the Jurisconsultes in Milan is a magnificent Renaissance palace which was built by incorporating several remains of previous constructions. A 13th century tower is also part of this palace. It is located in Piazza Mercanti and was once an important place for the civic life of the city, where justice was administered and merchant corporations met. However, in the second half of the 19th century, two access porches were demolished to facilitate the passage from the Duomo to the Sforza Castle, which changed the medieval character of the square.
