The Circus Maximus in Rome was a huge stadium used for chariot races. It had the capacity to accommodate over 300,000 spectators and measured 200 meters by 600. In addition to chariot races with horse-drawn chariots, races with chariots drawn by camels were also occasionally held. It was one of the most important entertainment venues in ancient Rome.
