Donato Bramante was an Italian Renaissance architect, born in 1444 in Urbino and died in 1514 in Rome. He is known for being one of the most important and influential architects of his time. Bramante developed an architectural style characterized by simplicity, harmony, and classical proportion, which influenced all subsequent Renaissance architecture. Some of his most notable works include the cloister of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican, and the original design of the Palazzo dei Borgia in Rome.
