The sculpture of Laocoön is a masterpiece of ancient sculpture located in Rome. It was created by a group of sculptors from Rhodes approximately 2,000 years ago. It depicts the scene of the mythological character Laocoön, a Trojan priest who unsuccessfully tries to warn his fellow citizens about the deceitful wooden horse during the siege of Troy. In the sculpture, Laocoön and his two sons are shown being strangled by two sea serpents. This famous work was discovered in Rome and is considered one of the most striking pieces of ancient art.
